Call webhooks: send your calls to your own system
Last updated: 9 October 2026 · 4 min read
A call webhook is Clomni sending data to your address when a call starts, is answered, ends and when its recording is ready. It works for incoming and outgoing calls: WhatsApp (QR), WhatsApp Business API and Twilio calls. An administrator sets the webhook up; your developer receives the requests.
Steps
-
1
Tick the call events
On the Settings › Workspace settings › Integrations page, click “Configure” on the “Webhook” card, then “Add new webhook”. Enter the “Webhook URL” (HTTPS) and tick the events you need under “Calls”. Click “Create webhook” and copy the secret: you verify the signature with it. To add the events to an existing webhook, click “Edit” next to it. Other webhooks do not change; a call event goes only to the webhooks it is ticked on.

Which event comes when
- “Call started” (
call_started): an incoming call rings, or an agent places a call. - “Call answered” (
call_answered): the call is picked up in the dashboard, the app or on the phone. - “Call ended” (
call_ended): with the duration, the outcome and who hung up. - “Call recording ready” (
call_recording_ready): with a link to the recording, the transcript and the summary.
Each event comes once per call. More in “Call webhooks: events and when they arrive”.

Good to know
- Your server should answer with
2xxwithin 5 seconds. If it does not, Clomni retries the delivery up to 5 attempts, with the samedelivery_id. - For a WhatsApp (QR) call answered on the phone, the duration comes from the phone's call log. If the log does not arrive within 10 minutes, “Call ended” comes without a duration, with
duration_known: false. - A summary is made only for answered calls longer than 10 seconds.
- Check that a request really comes from Clomni with the secret and the
X-ChatX-Signatureheader.
